Buying Clothes Online: A Size and Fit Checklist

Shopping for clothing online is easier when you compare information instead of relying only on a size letter. A medium in one style may fit differently from a medium in another. Use this checklist to narrow the choice before adding an item to your bag.

Begin with a garment you already like

Find a similar jacket, hoodie or crewneck that fits the way you want. Lay it flat and note its measurements using a consistent method. If the new product provides a measurement chart, follow that chart’s instructions carefully. Body measurements and garment measurements are not interchangeable.

Read the fit description

Look for descriptions such as tailored, slim or relaxed. Consider whether you want to wear the item alone or over other clothing. If measurements are missing, ask for clarification rather than guessing that every product follows one store-wide size chart.

Check the selected variant

Choose the color and size on the product page, then confirm both again in your cart. Similar photographs or color names can make it easy to select the wrong option. Availability can vary by size, so confirm that the selected combination is available.

Review practical details before paying

Check the item description, care guidance, delivery address and checkout shipping options. Read the return and refund policy so you understand the authorization process before you need it. Keep your order confirmation for reference.

Ask a specific question

A message with the product name, intended size and your preferred fit is easier to answer than “Does this fit true to size?” If you are layering, mention what you want to wear underneath.

Ask CARIVIO about fit or browse the current collection. For jackets, see our movement and layering checks.
